Aerial Survey Pilot (Line Pilot)
Nationwide travel (home-based) · Full-time · Flight Operations
Sol Aerial Surveys flies high-resolution aerial imagery across the United States and Canada for commercial customers. This line pilot role flies the Cessna 310 (twin-engine piston) on survey missions, one pilot per aircraft, working a rotation away from home and living anywhere near a commercial airport.
What the job looks like
- A rotation away from home, targeting about 16 days on and 12 days off; schedules can shift with the season and the weather.
- Precise survey-line flying at altitude, with daily end-of-day reporting from the Sol Pilot App.
- You own the aircraft while you are on it: preflight, fuel, hangar and hotel logistics, and the little things such as receipts, checklists and EODs.
- Some days the weather means no flying. We want pilots who stay ready, look after the airplane and launch the minute it clears.
Minimum requirements
- FAA Commercial certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings, current and proficient day and night.
- Valid First or Second Class medical; authorized to work in the United States; passport valid for travel to Canada.
- 450 total time and 80 hours multi-engine; the multi-engine minimum is an insurance requirement.
Preferred
- Aerial survey experience; Cessna 310 / twin Cessna time. Caravan (208) time is a plus, but this role flies the 310 only.
